Meet the Principal
Welcome to Stillwater Elementary! Our primary focus is to create a school environment that prepares and inspires students to take that next academic step in their lives. Upon exiting from Stillwater, we expect that every child is ready and excited to take on the new challenges that they will face at the next level. We establish high, concrete goals and the expectation that all students will meet them.
Our Professional Learning Community - made up of teachers, support staff, and parents - is critical to the success of this vision. I believe the teachers and staff at Stillwater are exceptional, and I'm proud of their dedication to developing and nurturing young minds. They are committed to the belief that every child has the potential to thrive academically, and they are devoted to serving the needs of our students. At Stillwater, our actions as educators are guided by 4 critical questions:
1. What do we want students to learn?
2. How will we know if they have learned it?
3. What will we do if they don't?
4. What will we do if they walk into the room knowing it?
We value collaboration and team work, and we are committed to ensuring that the curriculum at Stillwater is in alignment with the Common Core State Standards. Stillwater is a place where learning and growth happens for students and teachers alike - A place where teachers are equally apt to find opportunities to improve the quality of their instruction through the review and analysis of results and performance. We are committed to professional development and to the alignment of our staff development with the four critical questions of a professional learning community. It is this focus that guides our efforts to ensure students are provided with the opportunity to succeed and excel.
Stillwater Elementary works as a team. From the classroom, to the office, to the lunch room, to extended day programs, and to our custodial staff, their commitment makes our school not only function efficiently, but makes us feel like a family. We receive enormous support from the community in the form of volunteers, and the PTSA is vital with funding special projects and fun family events. Stillwater is a great place for kids where our students develop a love for learning and acquire the skills necessary for future success.
Sincerely,
Jack Madigan
